Job Title: Medical Laboratory Scientist Profession: Medical Laboratory Specialty: Laboratory Technician, Clinical Laboratory Scientist Duration: 1 Year Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 8 am - 5 pm Experience: Minimum years of experience required License: Must possess relevant license as per standards. Certifications: National certification in Medical Laboratory Science or Medical Technology preferred. Must-Have: Earned Bachelor's Degree in Medical Laboratory Science, Medical Technology, or closely related field or equivalent education and experience as defined by standards. Proficient in laboratory analytical equipment and procedures. Ability to recognize deviations from expected results and correct problems. Demonstrate strong communication skills and the ability to make decisions under pressure. Description: This is an urgent position for qualified candidates. Collect, process, and analyze human clinical specimens using established medical laboratory methods. Testing methods used may be waived, moderately complex, or highly complex as defined by regulations. Perform preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and minor repair of complex instruments. Conduct and interpret quality control procedures to ensure a high degree of result accuracy and precision. Interpret analytical data and correlate it to the patient's clinical condition. Enter and retrieve data from laboratory information systems accurately. Maintain confidentiality of patient data in accordance with regulations. Perform medical laboratory procedures in various laboratory sections with proficiency. Recognize abnormal and critical laboratory results and follow protocols for result verification. Analyze quality control materials and make judgments regarding accuracy and precision. Document and report any discrepancies or issues that arise during procedures. Participate in proficiency surveys and maintain work area and equipment standards. Demonstrate ability to manage a heavy workload effectively while maintaining accuracy in results. Work collaboratively with clinicians and nursing staff to resolve patient issues. Adhere to all relevant accreditation standards and laboratory protocols. Demonstrate critical thinking abilities to investigate laboratory discrepancies. Recognize and address complications or significant changes in patient status.
