Job Description:
We are seeking a creative and highly motivated Senior Associate
Scientist to join our Editing Technologies and Therapeutic Cargo
Group within Regeneron Genetic Medicines. You will work both
cross-functionally with colleagues as well as independently to
develop and implement assays to support the discovery,
characterization, and development of next-generation gene therapy
technologies to target multiple organ systems, especially the
central nervous system (CNS). As a Senior Associate Scientist, a
typical day may include the following: Performing cell-based assays
using transfection and viral vector transduction techniques in BSL2
mammalian cell culture and analyzing transfection efficiency using
flow cytometry. Performing RNA and DNA isolation and purification
from cell culture and tissue samples Performing molecular biology
experiments using qPCR, dPCR, and ddPCR Developing and implementing
ELISA and Western blot-based protein expression analysis assays
Producing, purifying, quantifying, and characterizing AAV vectors
Analyzing and presenting data (familiarity with Graphpad Prism or
other statistical/graphical software) Collaborating with
therapeutic-focused groups to characterize and optimizing construct
designs based on functional activity in various in vitro and in
vivo models Participating in team meetings and preparation of
presentations for departmental meetings Maintaining accurate
documentation of experimental procedures, data, and analysis,
including meticulous sample tracking and data management This role

skills In order to be considered for this opportunity, you must
have at least a BS/MS in biology, molecular biology, genome
sciences, biochemistry, or a related field with 3 years of relevant
experience in an academic or industry laboratory in a relevant
field. We need someone with a fundamental understanding of
molecular and cellular biology Experience with basic molecular
biology techniques such as cell culture, western blot, PCR,
cloning, etc. is required. Experience with flow cytometry and
knowledge regarding adeno-associated virus (AAV) vector-based gene
therapy methods and technologies is a distinct advantage.
Familiarity with in vivo experimentation and basic mouse husbandry
is a plus. Must be highly organized, enthusiastic, and able to
