The Mature Commercial Engines Aftermarket organization is looking for a Data Analyst in the Cost Modeling and Analytics Group that will be focused on advancing the maintenance cost evaluation performed in commercial engines. The organization is responsible for the management of long-term commercial maintenance agreements, driving a large portion of Pratt & Whitney's P/L performance. Under these maintenance contracts, the customers enlist P&W to manage the engine overhaul and repair requirements. The biggest driver to affect the value of our contracts correlates to the length of time an engine stays on-wing and the management of shop visit maintenance costs.

We are looking for a person with the desire to dig into complex data, a curiosity to find hidden relationships, a creativity to develop new opportunities, and the ability to communicate complex findings simply and effectively.

All work can be completed remotely or in a hybrid schedule on-site in East Hartford, CT

Key Responsibilities:

* Supporting maintenance cost model development and associated testing

* Working with Powerplant Engineering, Finance, Aftermarket, Programs and various shops and vendors to identify emerging aftermarket issues and incorporate these concerns into forecasting processes

* Analyzing existing maintenance and invoice data to find correlations, relationships, patterns etc. using statistical methods or other data analysis techniques

* Developing automated data flows, processes, and tools to speed up process execution

* Analyzing future cost savings business case opportunities while weighing risks and benefits

* Identifying high-cost drivers for engine overhauls and work with Engineering, shops, and vendors to identify mitigation opportunities

* Working with Fleet Management Group to develop fleet management strategies

* Communicating findings, risks, and opportunities found in data to upper management in a comprehensible way

Basic Qualifications:

* Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 2+ years of experience in analytical field; OR a Master's degree in STEM field and no experience

* US Citizenship required due to government contracts

Preferred Qualifications:

* High energy and enthusiasm to learn new topics

* Strong communication skills

* Prior experience with large sets of data, data warehousing, database systems

* Demonstrated experience in various data analysis methods, regression modeling techniques, Monte Carlo simulations, and understanding of statistical / probabilistic concepts

* Demonstrated experience in data analysis programming languages (R, Python, SQL, etc)

* Interested in learning engine performance, module assembly/disassembly, and engine work scoping concepts
