Just look up. Are you ready to go beyond?Aftermarket & Sustainment Engineering (ASE), located in East Hartford Connecticut, is looking for a software/methods engineer with a love for web development. The methods team is responsible for the development, deployment, and support of game-changing repair/maintenance software which includes the automation of both technical and business processes that will enable Pratt & Whitney to continually push the state of the art in gas turbine engine repairs and reduce the cost of maintaining our parts, components, and engines.Key Responsibilities:+ Learn and understand the needs of the engineering organization and translate those needs into clear software requirements which will drive the design, development, and testing of high-quality software for the engineering organization+ Collaborate with other team members and stakeholders+ Setup scalable server infrastructure and databases in the AWS cloud environment+ Develop new user-centric pages, components, and apps+ Ensure feasibility and excellent user experience+ Opportunity for full stack development and being involved in all stages of the software development processBasic Qualifications:+ BA/BS degree in Engineering, Software Engineering or Computer Science+ 5 years' experience required OR MA/MS degree in Engineering, Software Engineering or Computer Science with 3 years' experience+ 1+ year of experience in ANY of the following: Python, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, SQL, Java+ US citizenship is required due to government program requirementsPreferred Qualifications:+ Cloud experience, especially deploying on AWS (Amazon Web Services)+ Experience with JS Frameworks such as React and Vue+ Experience with ORMs such as SQLAlchemy and Sequelize+ Strong developer who is comfortable learning new languages, libraries, and frameworks+ Experience working in an agile environment+ Good communication skills and working as a team player+ Possesses excellent business judgement and professional maturity+ Creative problem solverWhat is my role type?In addition to transforming the future of flight, we are also transforming how and where we work.
