STAFF DEVELOPMENT POSITION - Responsible for planning, organizing, directing, coordinating and evaluating all educational programs, including on-the-job training for the Nursing Department. - Responsible or the health of the entire employee pool while on-the-job,maintaining a working relationship with the Workers' Compensation Insurance Companies and tracking employee health issues.QUALIFICATIONS: - Maintains current nursing license in accordance with State Regulations. Five years Long Term care experience preferred. - Hold and maintains current CPR certification in accordance with Nursing Standards of Practice.POSITION SUMMARY: - Responsible for planning, organizing, directing, coordinating and evaluating all educational programs, including on-the-job training for the Nursing Department. - Responsible for the health of the entire employee pool while on-the-job,maintaining a working relationship with the Workers' Compensation Insurance Companies and tracking employee health issues.Although this job description is intended to be as complete as possible, omission of specific statements of duties does not exclude them from the position if the work is similar, related or is a logical assignment. Works in office area(s) as well as throughout the nursing services area (i.E. dining rooms, nurse's stations, patient/resident rooms, etc.). - Is involved with patient/residents, personnel, visitors, government agencies/personnel, etc., under all conditions and circumstances. - Is subject to hostile and emotionally upset patients/residents, family members, personnel and visitors. - Communicates with the medical staff, nursing personnel, and other department supervisors. - Works beyond normal working hours and on weekends and holidays when necessary. - Attends and participates in continuing educational programs. - Is subject to falls, burns from equipment, odors, etc. throughout the day. - Is subject to exposure to infectious waste, diseases, conditions, etc., including TB and the AIDS and Hepatitis B viruses.Specific RequirementsMust possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action. - Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with personnel, patients/residents, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel and the general public. - Must be knowledgeable of nursing and medical practices and procedures, as well as laws, regulations and guidelines that pertain to long-term care. - Must be willing to work harmoniously with professionals and non-professional personnel - Must be willing to seek out new methods and principles and be willing to incorporate them into existing nursing practices. - Must not pose a direct threat to the health or safety of the other individuals in the workplace. - Must be able to see and hear or use prosthetics that will enable these senses to function adequately to ensure that the requirements of this position can be fully met - Must function independently, and have flexibility, personal integrity, and the ability to work effectively with patients/residents, personnel, and support agencies. - Must be able to relate to work with the ill, disabled, elderly, emotionally upset, and at times, hostile people within the facility/unit.Job Type: Full-timePay: From $85,000.00 per yearPhysical setting:* Long term careSchedule:* Day shift* Monday to FridayAbility to commute/relocate:* Jamaica Plain, MA 02130: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required)License/Certification:* Driver's License (Preferred)* BLS Certification (Preferred)* RN (Preferred)Work Location: One location
