Job Description:

The Senior Buyer is responsible for the prudent purchasing of raw materials, outside vendor services, equipment, tools, supplies and finished goods in accordance with production schedules or Company needs. Identifies, develops, onboards, and manages the approved Supplier. This position needs to negotiate the best deals on all necessary purchases.Major Areas of ResponsibilityAnalyzes and reviews requirements for materials and services that need to be obtained or strategically purchased from approved Supplier base.Research Supplier selection and reviews all bids and proposals. Recommends Suppliers and sends RFQ's. Negotiates the best prices, terms, and delivery.Analyzes our annual spend, develops and implements strategies to reduce the company's spending.Develops strong beneficial relationships with our Suppliers for best service and cost.Obtains approvals for purchases beyond buying authorization.Maintains all records pertaining to orders, delivery dates, vendor information, and minimum re-order quantities. Expedites Supplier orders, and also visits local Suppliers periodically.Keeps current on price changes and discounts.Reduces purchasing costs by utilizing excellent cost containment practices.Reviews with the Quality Assurance Team all rejections of in-coming materials or outside services and takes corrective action.Notifies all appropriate personnel of any changes to delivery dates. Works with Shipping Team to arrange for delivery to and from Suppliers for parts or services.Help develop and implement Standard Operating ProceduresPerforms other related duties when necessary.RequirementsBachelors Degree in Business Administration or similar field, or equivalent education and experience.Three to five years buying experience.Strong PC Skills including Microsoft Office and Excel.Experience with ERP systems (Epicor ERP Preferred)Help develop and implement Standard Operating ProceduresStrong written, verbal, analytical and negotiating skills.Ability to organize and prioritize work.Physical RequirementsAbility to sit/stand for long periods of time.Ability to push/pull up to 50 lbs.
