Job Description:
Job Summary:
Coordinates all milling processes to 1) optimize repeat jobs 2)
insource subcontracted milling jobs and 3) develops new processes
for new parts. Makes programs, develop tooling, fixtures, processes
and set-ups to produce precision components that meet all quality
standards.
Major Areas of Responsibility:
Program and set-up CNC milling equipment. Experienced use of CAM
software preferred.
Inspect work and document quality to customer and company
specifications, i.e., first piece.
Improve processes (kaizen) to reduce set-up time and improve
throughout.
Use DNC System to manage CNC programs.
Performs other related duties as required.
Assist with new part development.
Collaborate with engineering group in developing fixtures and
tooling.
Perform tool and die work and assist with fixture building.
Train employees on milling techniques.
Requirements:
Five or more years of advanced manufacturing experience in a job
shop environment
Experience with close tolerance machining (milling) in small
lots.
Strong organizational, verbal and interpersonal skills.
Proven ability to prioritize tasks, manage time.
Ability to maintain high accuracy and quality .
Physical Requirements:
Ability to stand for prolonged period of time
Ability to lift/push/pull up to 50 lbs
