Pratt & Whitney, a worldwide leader in jet engines, is looking
for a dedicated individual to lead our Digital Tools Roadmap
development and progression as we transform into a Model Based
Enterprise industry leader. This role reports to the Director,
Model Based Digital Thread & Manufacturing Fellows and is a part of
the Manufacturing Engineering function within Pratt & Whitney's
Operational Excellence organization. Model Based - Definition,
Manufacturing and Inspection (MB-DMI) is one Pratt & Whitney's
Model Based Enterprise (MBE) pillar projects focused on the
advancement of digital tools to create a collaborative model based
process design ecosystem to enable improvements in process
development speed and effectiveness.
In this role, you will be joining a cross functional team and
providing leadership to drive implementation of MB-DMI across Pratt
& Whitney. MB-DMI is a company-wide initiative to augment 3D models
with formats that enable automated consumption in manufacturing
business processes such as: NC programming, Tool Design, Work
Instruction authoring, Inspection Programming, First Article
Inspection, Process Capability Analysis monitoring & reporting,
Physics based modeling, Material Review Board (MRB) for discrepant
material. This effort is focused on creating the digital thread
that supports efficient automated re-use of data across all these
processes for internal and external producers.
- Provide leadership to guide the development of functional
system, unit testing, acceptance testing, deployment planning,
production validation and enterprise wide execution.
- Plan, configure, develop, and administer out of the box and
custom software solutions
- Work with software vendors in the development, debugging, and
evolution of software tools to support MB-DMI goals.
- Identify training needs, develop and maintain learning media,
coordinate with suppliers to streamline the incorporation of PW
- Work with internal organizations to ensure standard
work/processes are updated to support new functionality for
- Participate in applicable industry standards groups (A&D
PLM Action Group, PDES, DMSC, 3D PDF, etc.) to better understand
how the standards will affect MB-DMI and to shape to their future
- Bachelor's Degree and 10+ years experience in
manufacturing/digital tools or Master's Degree and 8+ years
experience in manufacturing/digital tools
- Teamcenter & NX experience
- Strong leadership and communication skills (both verbal and
- Self-motivated, persistent, and focused on results.
- Able to multi-task and be able to work through roadblocks,
raising issues and identifying solutions to ensure tasks are driven
