Albany Medical Center, an integration of a premier hospital and a top-tier medical college, is seeking a dedicated and skilled Clinical Nurse II for our Labor and Delivery/Antepartum unit. This role involves directly caring for and supporting pregnant patients before, during, and shortly after childbirth. Our unit aims to complement our educational mission, facilitating research and providing compassionate, high-quality patient care. Assessing, planning, and implementing nursing care for laboring mothers and antepartum patients. Monitoring fetal health during labor and intervening as necessary. Educating and supporting patients and families about prenatal care, childbirth options, and postnatal care. Administering medications as prescribed and monitoring responses. Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive patient care. Documenting all patient care services through electronic medical records. Participating in peer education and professional development activities. Strong clinical skills in a labor and delivery setting Proficient in fetal monitoring and maternity health Ability to handle high-stress situations Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Competency in electronic medical record systems Medical Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance Life Insurance 401k Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice BLS/CPR certification ACLS certification preferred Certification in Inpatient Obstetric Nursing (RNC-OB) or related field is advantageous
