The Power Thermal Management Systems Discipline, which is part of EDSI CDSA, is seeking a Power Thermal Management Systems Engineer II to be a part of our world-class systems engineering team. Team members work on multidisciplinary Integrated Product Teams (IPT) to architect, model, develop and integrate state-of-the-art power thermal management systems with propulsion systems and aircraft.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:Review test data and present correlationsModel power and thermal management systems throughout product lifecycleDefine interfaces between engine, airframe, and PTMSDefine subsystem and component requirements for module centers and suppliersDeveloping, executing and maintaining system and component steady-state and dynamic modelsPerforming subsystem and part analyses including pressure drop; heat exchanger sizing; DMU installation and fit checks; reliability, maintainability and safety assessmentsBASIC QUALIFICATIONS:Typically requires a University Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 2 years of prior relevant experienceBachelor of Science Degree in Engineering, Physics, or related field1+ years of engineering experience or a Master's degreeExperience with Matlab, Simulink, MS OfficeU S Citizenship required due to government contractsPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 2 years of prior relevant experience unless prohibited by local laws/regulations.Effective Communication Skills (verbal/written); able to work effectively on teams.Experience with Numerical Propulsion System Simulation (NPSS) or Dynamic Modeling Laboratory (Dymola) or other turbomachinery simulationsExperience with one or more of the following engine subsystems: bleed air systems, buffer air systems, lubrication systems, fuel systems, control systems, horsepower extractionExperience with air cycle systems or vapor cycle systems for thermal managementExperience with aircraft electrical power generation, transmission or storageExperience integrating subsystems with engines or aircraftAbility to work in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail, deadlines and reporting.Desire for continuous learning and innovation.Security Clearance is preferred; willing to obtain and maintain.What is my role type?In addition to transforming the future of flight, we are also transforming how and where we work.
