The Sr. Data Engineer helps support amazing guest and team members
experiences by developing and maintaining our data infrastructure
while collaborating closely with senior leadership and data
analysts to deliver impactful reporting solutions. They are
responsible for managing all aspects of the Tatte Data Warehouse
which includes designing, developing, and optimizing data
pipelines, data storage, and reporting. They have deep technical
expertise as well as the ability to effectively communicate
technical complexity in business-friendly terms with key
stakeholder and data analysts to ensure business objectives and
reporting needs are met. They also leverage various Snowflake and
AWS technologies to build scalable and reliable data solutions, and
integrate with third-party APIs to ensure smooth data flows across
various cloud services.Summary of Responsibilities
--- Architect and maintain scalable, reliable, and cost-effective
data solutions on AWS to integrate with third-party APIs by
leveraging technologies Node.js, Batch, Lambda, Kinesis, S3, and
RDS for data retrieval and task automation.
--- Design, develop, and optimize data pipelines and ETL processes
within Snowflake.
--- Write efficient and optimized SQL queries for data extraction,
transformation, and analysis.
--- Communicate data strategies, requirements, technical progress,
and project milestones with clarity to senior management and other
stakeholders.
--- Collaborate with data analysts to implement and deliver
reporting requirements and ensure the availability of data for
business intelligence is timely and accurate.
--- Lead by example to foster a collaborative and solution-oriented
environment, ensuring effective partnerships with cross-functional
teams.
--- Troubleshoot and resolve data-related issues to ensure the
smooth functioning of ETL and reporting processes.
--- Maintain data quality, security, and compliance across all data
systems and workflows.
--- Continuously monitor and optimize performance of data pipelines
and cloud-based solutions.
--- Use Terraform to automate AWS infrastructure provisioning and
management.
--- Work with the Atlassian suite, including JIRA for project
management and Bitbucket Pipelines for deployment automation.
--- Stay current with industry trends and emerging best practices
in data engineering and cloud technologies.

Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field.
- 5+ years of experience in data engineering or related fields.
- Extensive experience with AWS services, including AWS Batch,
Lambda, Kinesis, S3, and RDS.
- Hands-on experience with Snowflake for data warehousing, ETL
processes, and performance optimization.
- Strong proficiency in SQL for data manipulation, transformation,
reporting, and performance tuning.
- Experience with Node.js, specifically integrating with
third-party APIs using AWS technologies.
- Ability to effectively communicate complex technical concepts to
non-technical stakeholders, with demonstrable experience and
comfort interacting with senior management and business
analysts.
- Proven experience in building, managing, and optimizing
large-scale data pipelines.
- Familiarity with the Atlassian suite, including JIRA for task and
project management and Bitbucket Pipelines for CI/CD and deployment
automation.
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code, ideally using Terraform,
to automate and manage AWS infrastructure.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a
fast-paced environment.
- Strong project management skills, with the ability to prioritize
and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.Preferred Skills
- Experience with AWS Quick Sight for business intelligence and
data visualization.
- Experience with API integration and data extraction from
third-party services.
- Experience with data security and governance practices.
