Hot Section Engineering is seeking a dynamic individual to be a
part of our world-class Combustor Durability Engineering team! This
candidate will lead in the development and execution of methods for
modeling and assessing combustor durability on products ranging
from the latest commercial engines to advanced military
applications. The candidate will lead and coordinate the combustor
durability work supporting multidisciplinary Integrated Product
Teams (IPT). The successful candidate will possess impeccable
communication skills and the ability to formulate solutions and
plans aimed to overcome challenging problems aimed at improving
combustor durability, capability, robustness, affordability, and
safety. The candidate will be the primary interface to the program
leadership working directly with the CIPT. Travel up to 10%.
* Primary discipline interface to CIPT and program leadership.
* Assists the strategic development of combustor durability
processes, tools, and vision within the organization, own specific
parts of the discipline development plan.
* Drives discipline learning between engine programs and
* Responsible for the creation and execution of analytical models
that captures fleet-specific utilization and to provide life
projections to business-level decision.
* Leading and mentoring younger engineers in executing engineering
* Integrates with combustor aerodynamics to mature standards and
processes in combustor thermal-damage model creation.
* Develops design and life prediction maturation plans integrating
test data from university rigs, internal rigs, test engines, and
* Develop and communicate combustor durability fleet statistics,
removal drivers, and corrective actions to program management.
* Development of technical initiatives incorporating field data,
environmental data and higher fidelity physics into life modeling
* BS degree in Engineering
* 5+ years of engineering experience or 3+ years with an advanced
degree in a related field
* U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident Status (Green Card Holder) is
required due to government contract
* Background in Aero Thermal Science
