Are you ready to go beyond?Job Description:The Core structures team is looking for an experienced structures engineer to lead and execute technical tasks centered around low cycle fatigue, burst & overspeed and crack growth. The ability to derive creative solutions to challenging problems while remaining conservative is crucial. The role provides unique opportunity to interact with Aftermarket, MRO, Module Centers and engine program leadership in all phases of development. Core Structures is responsible with developing and maintaining World Class lifing tools allowing module centers to design and analyze some of the most sophisticated gas turbine engine components for today's advanced commercial and military aircraft. Key Responsibilities:Perform structural analysis in support of all phases of life model development including specimen data regression, failure analysis, component validation and authority certification in areas of:Low Cycle FatigueHigh Cycle FatigueThermal Mechanical FatigueAqueous and Hot Corrosion FatigueBurst & OverspeedSurface Damage ToleranceCrack GrowthProbabilisticsSupport field investigations.Use finite element analysis and classical methods to evaluate component and specimen capabilities.Work to advance technology and improve engineering standard work processes/methods.Document analysis results and present conclusions to PW management and external customers.Basic Qualifications:Bachelor's Degree in Engineering5+ years of prior relevant experience or an Advance Degree in related field and minimum 3+ years of experience.U.S. Citizenship is required due to government contracts.Preferred Qualifications:BS Degree in Mechanical or Aerospace EngineeringFinite Element experienceNumerical methods experience with either MATLAB or equivalentActive security clearance, or ability to get one.Strong communication and task coordination skills.What is my role type?In addition to transforming the future of flight, we are also transforming how and where we work.
