ready to go beyond? Control & Diagnostic Systems (CDS) is a dynamic
engineering organization focused on the development and
certification of military, commercial and industrial gas turbine
engine control and diagnostic systems. CDS is responsible for all
aspects of Pratt & Whitney engine control and diagnostic system
development, including requirements analysis & definition, system &
software architecture, algorithm design, and product software
design, verification & validation. We integrate the control and
diagnostic system design across other engine system modules and
with the air vehicles and provide support throughout the complete
engine product life cycle.The DPHM discipline within CDS is
responsible for the development and deployment of cutting-edge data
acquisition systems, diagnostics, prognostics and analytics. This
includes Usage Based Lifing (UBL) for P engines and components and
deploying state of the art development tools & methodologies.In
this role, we are seeking an analytics and data engineer to be a
member of DPHM's Military Health Management team.The analytics and
data engineer builds and optimizes the systems that allow a data
scientist or analyst to focus on solving analytical problems,
rather than having to move data from source to source. They
collaborate with engineering teams to develop next generation data
analytics and algorithms for military applicationsThe position is
based at the P East Hartford facility and is a hybrid role.Key
Responsibilities:+ Integrating external or new datasets into
existing data pipelines.+ Applying physics-based modeling and
machine learning methods to derive insight from field data.+
Deploying algorithms to customer facing systems to drive engine
maintenance and improve fleet health.+ Continuously monitoring and
testing the system to ensure optimized performance.+ This position
is to support Military engine programs.+ Develop and productionize
newly developed Analytic Hub, Incubator & Analytic Engine (a
pipeline for data acquisition, analytics processing and analytics
storage which uses AWS services, Python, Scala, Kubernetes, GitHub
and Jenkins).+ Work integrally with multi-discipline Agile teams
(Systems Engineering, Digital Technology, Sustainment) to elevate
the new data/analytics design to the Cloud.+ Analytics development
with data scientists and data analysts using statistical analysis,
physics-based models, and artificial intelligence efforts.+
Controls software improvements and development for health
monitoring functions and algorithms.+ Contribute to quality
improvements and metrics in the military data engineering
environments.Basic Qualifications:+ Typically requires: A
University Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 8 years
prior relevant experience, or An Advanced Degree in a related field
and minimum 5 years experience.+ US Citizenship required due to
government contracts.Preferred Qualifications:+ Typically requires
a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM)
and a minimum of 8 years of prior relevant experience unless
prohibited by local laws/regulations.+ Proficiency with Python,
Java, Kubernetes, Apache Spark, and Agile+ Knowledge of Cloud
Computing tools and methods, particularly AWS and/or Azure.+
Knowledge of avionics data acquisition systems and bus protocols
such as ARINC 429, ARINC 664.+ Knowledge of and exposure to
aerospace control and diagnostic systems.+ Familiarity with modern
data analysis and signal processing techniques.What is my role
