Pratt & Whitney Controls & Diagnostic Systems (CDS) is a dynamic
engineering organization focused on the development and
certification of military and commercial gas turbine engine control
and diagnostic systems. CDS is responsible for all aspects of Pratt
& Whitney engine control and diagnostic system development and
support, including requirements analysis & definition, system &
software architecture, algorithm design, product software design,
verification & validation and engine and flight test support.
The CDS organization is seeking a highly motivated, team oriented,
and results driven Principal Engineer to join the Engine System
Software organization.
Key Responsibilities:
Decompose system level and customer interface requirements into
software requirements and designs within an Agile Framework
Conduct iterative prototype testing and reviews of requirements and
designs
Perform software verification within the Agile Framework including
regression analysis, test case development, test script development
and evaluation of results
Participate in Agile ceremonies
Participate in software planning, estimating and tracking per Agile
framework
Potential to serve as Agile Scrum Master, Product Owner, and/or
part of the Development Team
Basic Qualifications:
Typically requires: A University Degree or equivalent experience
and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience, or an Advanced
Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years experience.
BS in Aerospace, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering, or Computer
Engineering, or Computer Science.
US Citizenship required due to government contracts.
Ability to work onsite full time is required.
Preferred Qualifications:
Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or
Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 8 years of prior relevant
experience unless prohibited by local laws/regulations.
Solid track record of achieving results in a technical role
Ability to work in a dynamic, high pressure engineering
environment
Prior experience developing software in an Agile framework
Prior safety critical software development experience
Knowledge of regulatory standards such as DO178B
Outstanding cross discipline communication skills
Familiarity with jet engine control and diagnostic system
architectures and control logic design
Experience in the Aerospace industry is preferred.
Background in controls, control systems and safety critical work is
preferred.
US Security Clearance is preferred; willing to obtain and
maintain.
