Job Description Job Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our team on a contract basis in Saddle Brook, New Jersey. In this role, you will handle a variety of accounting tasks, ensuring accuracy and compliance across financial processes. This position offers an opportunity to contribute to essential accounting operations. Responsibilities: • Prepare and review corporate tax returns to ensure compliance with regulatory standards. • Manage sales tax filings and related documentation with accuracy. • Post journal entries and reconcile accounts to maintain the integrity of financial records. • Monitor and update the general ledger for accurate reporting. • Collaborate with team members to analyze financial data and identify discrepancies. • Conduct regular audits of financial transactions to maintain quality control. • Assist with month-end and year-end closing procedures. • Provide support for tax-related inquiries and ensure timely responses. • Generate reports and summaries to aid decision-making processes. • Stay updated on changes in tax regulations and accounting practices.• Proven experience in corporate tax preparation and filing. • Strong knowledge of sales tax processes and regulations. • Proficiency in creating and posting journal entries. • Hands-on experience with general ledger management. • Ability to analyze financial data and identify inconsistencies. • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. • Familiarity with current accounting standards and practices. • Effective communication skills for collaboration with team members.
