Assistant Controller- Non-Profit About the Organization: CFS New York is working with a stable non-profit agency looking for an Assistant Controller to join their growing team This non-profit agency has been around for over 50 years and strives to support individuals with intellectual/developmental disabilities, mental illness and traumatic brain injury This role will be reporting directly to the VP of Accounting while additionally working with the VP and CFO on special projects The team here prides themselves on fundraising events, teamwork, and collaboration This role will be fully on-site in Bethpage, Long Island Role Responsibilities Of The Assistant Controller: Oversee the preparation and presentation of financial and managerial reports Manage all aspects of budgets, audits, internal, and external reporting for the various organizations Supervise the staff on the reporting & budget team Responsible for the overall preparation of the CFR for each reporting entity Perform reviews to ensure accuracy of data throughout the general ledger and all subsidiary ledgers Create reports for updating both the accounting and operations teams on the financial performance Ensure that all required documentation (paper and electronic) is completed /processed appropriately, in a timely manner, and meets quality and compliance thresholds Preferred Qualifications Of The Assistant Controller: Not-for-profit background is preferred 5 Years of Accounting experience and 2 years of experience in a supervisory position BA Degree in Accounting or a similar field is a must Intermediate excel skills is a must CPA is a plus INMAY2024
